ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Friday expressed full confidence in the armed forces’ ability to safeguard the country, declaring the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) an enemy of the state and vowing that Pakistan would pursue the militant group to its logical end.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar launched a sharp critique of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), alleging that the party had secured an “exemption” from the TTP due to fear, resulting in the group refraining from targeting it.
Criticising the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the minister said a leadership with a narrow mindset had been imposed on a brave and honourable people. He strongly condemned the targeting of women under the guise of political differences, calling it shameful, cowardly and unacceptable in any civilised society.
Highlighting governance shortcomings in the province, Tarar said dozens of universities were operating without adequate staff, several districts lacked colleges for women, and residents were forced to seek medical treatment outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also referred to alleged multi-billion-rupee corruption scandals in Kohistan and accused the provincial leadership of failing to carry out reforms in the health and education sectors.
The minister further alleged that the provincial leadership had patronised terrorists and financially benefited from them, while deliberately avoiding condemnation of acts of terrorism.
On the economic front, Tarar praised overseas Pakistanis for sending record remittances despite calls for boycotts by certain political groups, terming it a vote of confidence in the government’s economic policies. He said Pakistan now has sufficient import cover for several months, reflecting improved economic stability.
Defending Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s foreign visits, Tarar said such engagements had directly contributed to increased trade and investment. He cited Malaysia’s decision to expand quotas for Pakistani halal meat and rice as a result of diplomatic outreach.
He added that the international respect shown to Pakistan through official invitations, guards of honour and aerial escorts reflects renewed global confidence, noting that Pakistan’s growing stature at international forums is a collective achievement of the government, armed forces and the nation.

A big fat problem with the TTP is that they had not gone on a genocide of and they do not genocide the non-Pashtun men, women, and children of Pakistan like IS did with non-salafis and like the Mongols did with non-Mongols, but much worse.
