LAHORE: Saba Faisal, a well-known Pakistani actress recognized for her memorable roles in popular dramas such as Humsafar, Durr-e-Shehwar, and Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai, has been a familiar face in the entertainment industry for years. Recently, she received praise for her stellar performance in ARY Digital’s drama series Main Manto Nahi Hoon. Despite her success, Faisal is often at the center of controversy, particularly for her outspoken views on family dynamics and marriage advice for young women. Her recent appearance on *Good Morning Pakistan* stirred up controversy when she made remarks about newlywed women needing permission from their in-laws to take naps, which quickly went viral on social media.
In response to the backlash, Saba Faisal took to social media to defend herself. She criticized the critics, saying, “People who are agitators twist the meaning of others’ statements. Don’t engage in such behavior—you can’t earn fame by speaking against someone. Sharpasand people are the ones who completely change the direction of a conversation. Don’t do this. You won’t gain more followers or fame than what’s destined for you.”
Faisal also condemned the spread of misleading posts, particularly one involving Bushra Ansari and Feroze Khan, further urging the public to stop the practice of twisting words.
Her comments, however, sparked even more outrage. Many social media users expressed their frustration with her repeated statements about daughters-in-law. One fan commented, “What you think is fame is actually degradation.” Another said, “Being a daughter-in-law doesn’t mean you’ve hired an employee for a task.” Some fans even sarcastically referred to her as a “Bahu Training School” and labeled her remarks as a red flag. Others criticized her for what they perceived as outdated views, with one user saying, “What is she high on? Someone wake her up, it’s 2026.”
