KARACHI: The District South Investigation Police have made public comprehensive records of individuals involved in criminal activities within the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), categorized under a “Pink Book” and a “Blue Book,” according to ARY News.
The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South revealed that the Pink Book includes the names and photographs of 154 maids involved in burglaries and muggings within DHA. Many of these women have been arrested multiple times for their criminal activities.
The Blue Book, on the other hand, contains information on criminal groups and street criminals responsible for robberies, dacoities, and snatching incidents in the area. This record also highlights a specific Iranian group known for drugging victims before robbing them. In total, 270 criminals are listed in the Blue Book.
The DIG South explained that this information has been made public to raise community awareness and encourage residents to stay vigilant.
Earlier in the day, Sindh’s Home Minister Zia Lanjar announced plans for a major operation targeting bandits, with a focus on the Kashmore and Ghotki districts. He assured that action would be taken against notorious dacoits, and none would be allowed to escape justice.
The Home Minister also stated that those wishing to lay down their arms would be given the opportunity to surrender. He confirmed that security convoys had now been withdrawn from all areas of Sindh.
Zia Lanjar further mentioned that the IG Sindh had been directed to coordinate with the IG Punjab and the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Bahawalpur. He highlighted a recent joint operation conducted by Sindh Police in collaboration with Punjab Police against criminals. The Home Minister expressed confidence that the criminal gangs would be dismantled in the province, emphasizing that the facilitators of these gangs are also being held accountable. “Action will continue against criminals,” he added.
