Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram to slow down in Pakistan

Meta has announced that it will be conducting major maintenance on its services, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, from 1 AM on December 11 to 1 PM on December 12. During this period, users may experience slow performance, delayed message deliveries, and intermittent disruptions across Meta’s platforms.

PTCL, one of Pakistan’s leading internet service providers, has informed its customers about the upcoming maintenance. The company has warned that access to Meta services might be affected even for users with stable internet connections. PTCL clarified that this disruption is part of Meta’s planned technical work aimed at improving the reliability and performance of its systems.

Experts have raised concerns that the extended maintenance window could disrupt business operations, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that rely on Meta platforms for communication, marketing, and customer engagement. These businesses could face challenges in real-time communication and service delivery during the disruption.

This service degradation will affect users in Pakistan, and those dependent on Meta platforms should plan accordingly for the expected interruptions.
