Pakistan, Iran review regional developments ahead of Turkmenistan forum

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephonic discussion on Monday to review regional developments and the state of bilateral relations, officials confirmed.

During the conversation, both leaders acknowledged the importance of regular high-level exchanges between Pakistan and Iran in addressing issues of mutual interest. They expressed appreciation for the ongoing dialogue and stressed the value of continued cooperation on regional and bilateral matters.

The discussion also served to confirm their upcoming in-person engagement later this week at the International Forum of Peace & Trust, scheduled to be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Both officials highlighted the significance of the forum as a platform for promoting dialogue, stability, and collaborative solutions to regional challenges.

Officials noted that the telephonic talks reflected both countries’ commitment to maintaining open channels of communication and strengthening ties ahead of multilateral gatherings. The meeting comes amid ongoing regional shifts, with both sides emphasizing the importance of coordination on security, trade, and diplomatic matters.
