- Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar meets top three PMS achievers at CPO Lahore
LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar on Saturday met three Punjab Police officers who distinguished themselves by securing prominent positions in the Provincial Management Service (PMS) examination—a feat he said had brought honour to the force and demonstrated the professional calibre within its ranks.
The meeting was held at the Central Police Office, Lahore, where the IG lauded the officers’ achievement as a proud moment not only for their families but for the police department as a whole.
The successful officers include Inspector Legal Javed Iqbal, Lady Assistant Bisma Abdul Sattar and Sub-Inspector Sadaqat Ali Chadhar.
Congratulating the trio, Dr Usman Anwar appreciated their hard work, discipline, and commitment, saying their success had elevated the image of Punjab Police. He urged them to approach PMS training with focus and diligence, emphasizing that understanding administrative responsibilities and adopting innovative ideas would enhance their ability to serve the public. Their experience in policing, he added, would prove invaluable in addressing citizens’ issues more effectively.
“Utilise your authority and abilities for the service and development of the nation,” the IG said, assuring them that their association with the Punjab Police would always remain a source of pride.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, Sadaqat Ali Chadhar secured 18th position in the PMS examination, Javed Iqbal clinched 40th position, while Bisma Abdul Sattar stood 42nd. Following their success, all three officers have joined the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD). Javed Iqbal hails from Khushab, Bisma from Sheikhupura and Sadaqat from Chiniot.
Foolproof Security Arrangements at Churches
In a separate development, Punjab Police remained on high alert across the province—including Lahore—during Christian worship gatherings and prayer services, following instructions issued by IG Dr Usman Anwar.
The IG had earlier directed all RPOs and DPOs to enhance security of churches and sensitive locations. He ordered supervisory officers to personally inspect security arrangements and ensure deployment of additional personnel and snipers at sensitive churches. Dolphin Squad, PRU and Elite Force teams were instructed to intensify patrolling around worship sites.
Dr Anwar directed stationed personnel to remain vigilant and maintain strict surveillance of suspicious elements. He further instructed that search and sweep operations continue around churches, Christian neighborhoods, and sensitive points to uphold law and order.
He also stressed the role of religious scholars, Christian community members and peace committees in promoting interfaith harmony across the province.
