LAHORE: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders met PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) in Lahore on Friday, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Those who attended the meeting included former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, ex-governor of Sindh Imran Ismail, and former MNA Mehmood Moulvi.
According to party sources, the leaders discussed the country’s evolving political landscape, including developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The exchange is being viewed as a significant political development, given the current state of national politics and the internal re-alignments within PTI’s former ranks.
Sources added that the visiting leaders from Karachi, including Imran Ismail, have been in Lahore for the past two days and remain in close contact with each other as part of ongoing consultations about the political situation.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, a 10-member KP cabinet took oath at a ceremony held at the Governor House in Peshawar. KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers, in the presence of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, senior government officials, and other dignitaries.
The new provincial ministers include Meena Khan, Arshad Ayub Khan, Amjad Ali, Aftab Alam Afridi, Fazal Shakoor Khan, Khaleequr Rehman, Riaz Khan, Syed Fakhar Jehan, Aqib Ullah Khan, and Faisal Khan.
Governor Kundi congratulated the cabinet members and expressed hope that they would perform their duties diligently in addressing the province’s administrative and development challenges. Senior bureaucrats, including the chief secretary, inspector general of police, and heads of key administrative departments, were also in attendance.
