Traffic plan for Pakistan vs South Africa Test match in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Traffic Police have unveiled a comprehensive traffic management plan for the upcoming Pakistan-South Africa Test match, scheduled from October 20 to 24 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

City Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam announced that over 367 traffic wardens and officers will be deployed around the stadium to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event.

A special traffic diversion plan has been devised to reduce congestion. Motorists coming from Islamabad will be redirected from Faizabad to the Islamabad Expressway, while vehicles from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be diverted from 6th Road to Saidpur Road.

Stadium Road, stretching from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road, will remain closed to traffic during the matches. Alternate routes through IJP Road and Faizabad will be available.

Parking arrangements have been made at Civil Aviation Ground, Shahbaz Sharif Park, and Government Graduate College Satellite Town, with shuttle services provided to the stadium.

Traffic updates will be shared regularly through social media and local radio channels.
