Diane Keaton’s Family Reveals Cause Of Death and details of Final Days amid Unexpected Loss

Diane Keaton’s family has shared the cause of her death, revealing she passed away from pneumonia on October 11. The actress, aged 79, died in California, and her family expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received following her unexpected loss.

A spokesperson from the family confirmed the news and encouraged those wishing to honor Keaton’s memory to contribute to local food banks or animal shelters—causes she was deeply passionate about.

Friends close to Keaton disclosed that her health had rapidly deteriorated in recent months, leaving those who loved her heartbroken. Despite her decision to keep her health private, the sudden change in her condition came as a shock.

In a surprising turn earlier this year, Keaton listed her “dream home” in Los Angeles for $29 million, despite previously stating she intended to stay there permanently. While she was often seen walking her dog in her Brentwood neighborhood, she had not been seen in recent months.

Keaton’s final Instagram post, shared in April, showed her looking happy and healthy, cuddling with her dog, Reggie.

Though never married, Keaton had a well-known on-and-off relationship with her “The Godfather” co-star Al Pacino and dated director Woody Allen and actor Warren Beatty. Later in life, she adopted two children, Dexter and Duke, in her 50s.

In a 2012 interview, Keaton spoke candidly about her concerns regarding aging and her desire to be there for her children. Despite the uncertainties, she emphasized her desire to stay strong for them while allowing them the independence to navigate their own lives.
