BEIJING: China is prepared to deepen coordination with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to better protect common interests, said Chinese Premier Li Qiang during a meeting with DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui in Beijing on Monday.
Li stated that China consistently views and promotes China-DPRK relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. He added that China is ready to work with the DPRK to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties and countries, further carry forward the traditional friendship, enhance strategic communication, and jointly advance the socialist cause of the two nations for the greater well-being of their peoples.
The premier stated that China is willing to maintain close exchanges and interactions at all levels with the DPRK, deepen mutual understanding and friendship, and carry out practical cooperation across various fields to promote joint development.
Praising the DPRK’s strong support on issues related to China’s core interests and major concerns, Li urged the foreign ministries of both countries to strengthen coordination and achieve steady progress in all areas.
Choe said the meeting between the two top leaders has outlined the direction for developing bilateral ties, adding that strengthening and expanding relations with China remains the unwavering stance of the DPRK, which aligns with the fundamental interests of both countries and their people.
Choe noted that the DPRK fully supports the idea of building a community with a shared future for humanity and the four major global initiatives. They will also continue to strongly support China’s stance on issues related to China’s core interests, including those concerning Taiwan, Xinjiang, Xizang, and Hong Kong.
Choe also stated that the DPRK looks forward to collaborating with China to improve high-level exchanges, strengthen communication between foreign ministries, advance practical cooperation, and deepen multilateral partnerships.
