Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s javelin sensation, has successfully secured a spot in the men’s final of the World Athletics Championships 2025 in Tokyo, following a stunning 85.28m throw in his third and final attempt on Wednesday.
After initial throws of 74.17m and 76.99m, Nadeem delivered a career-defining performance in his final attempt, advancing to the medal round set for Thursday.
Joining Nadeem in the final are world-class athletes Anderson Peters (85.96m), Julius Yego (89.53m), and Curtis Thompson (84.72m), while India’s Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, with an impressive first-attempt throw of 84.85m, secured his place in the final with ease.

Chopra, the reigning Olympic gold medallist, continues to be a top contender, bolstered by his recent record-breaking 92.97m throw in Paris.
The final will feature 12 athletes, including 2020 silver medallist Jakub Vadlejch (84.11m) and Olympic medallist Keshorn Walcott (83.93m). Meanwhile, India’s Sachin Yadav narrowly missed automatic qualification but is awaiting confirmation based on results from Group B.
At the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Nadeem won silver with a throw of 87.82m, while Chopra claimed gold. The tables turned at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where Nadeem triumphed with gold, leaving Chopra with silver.
