CM Launches ‘Livestock Card’ to Support Cattle Farmers
Meanwhile, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Kisan Dost policy, the provincial government has rolled out the “Livestock Card” project to facilitate cattle herders.
Following the 100 percent recovery of phase one, applications for phase two are now open and can be submitted via SMS to 8070. Under the scheme, interest-free loans will be provided for livestock purchases of 5 or 20 animals.
According to the Livestock Department, the initiative is expected to boost meat production and significantly expand Punjab’s livestock exports. Officials said millions of farmers across the province would directly benefit from the project, terming it a “revolutionary step” for the livestock sector.
