Kensington Palace confirms Prince William’s decision as Prince Harry meeting with King Charles is confirmed

Prince Harry is reportedly set to meet his father, King Charles III, during his upcoming London visit on Sept. 8 for the WellChild Awards, marking the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Sources told The Mirror that both Harry and Charles are “determined” to make the reunion happen, opening a new line of communication after 20 months apart.

The reunion is expected to be private and low-key, focused on a “simple face-to-face conversation,” rather than public appearances or formal gestures. Insiders said the goal is to preserve privacy and dignity while keeping the door open for further dialogue.

However, reconciliation with Prince William remains off the table. The source indicated that any efforts to bring the brothers together have been “rejected out of hand.”

Meghan Markle, Harry’s wife, will remain in Montecito, California, with their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, during his trip. Markle has not returned to England since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, which she described as a “hard” trip.

Harry, 40, has expressed his desire to make peace with his father, saying in May that there is “no point in continuing to fight.”

This development marks a cautious step in the ongoing effort to mend family ties within the British royal family.
