Aleema rejects rumors of any clash with Salman Akram Raja

RAWALPINDI:  Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, clarified on Tuesday that she had no verbal clash with Salman Akram Raja, adding that he is their lawyer and like family to them.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, she said, “If Salman Akram Raja has any issue, it must be personal. As for the by-
elections, I think you should ask him directly.” Aleema Khan further stated that despite Imran Khan’s bail, her children were picked up without reason.
“Shahrez Khan runs a business and has represented Pakistan in sports, yet he was taken. Sher Shah was also detained the next day.
These arrests make no difference to us. I even told them to arrest me too, they are scared and even fear our children,” she remarked.
She added that if the Imran Khan’s message is delivered through the family, it still represents his stance.

Meanwhile, Uzma Khan, also speaking on the occasion, said the matter of by-elections will be decided by the party.
She quoted Imran Khan as saying during a family meeting that contesting by-polls would harm the party rather than benefit it. “Imran Khan made it clear that participating in elections will only legitimize unlawful disqualifications. He advised the party to stay focused on the movement,” she said.
