LAHORE: Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani has emphasized the importance of promoting dialogue among political parties as a means to resolve internal differences and ensure national unity.
Addressing a seminar in Lahore on Sunday, Gilani stated that constructive dialogue is the need of the hour to address the issues facing the country. He further emphasized that even former President Donald Trump has acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism.
Gilani highlighted the international community’s recognition of Pakistan’s contributions to global peace. He stated, “Peace is crucial for sustainable development and prosperity.”
He stressed that the protection of national sovereignty and security remains Pakistan’s top priority and praised the armed forces for delivering a strong response to Indian aggression.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s desire for regional peace and stability, Gilani commented, “India is acting like an extremist state, aiming to disrupt peace in the region.”
The Senate Chairman also lauded the Pakistani media for its responsible coverage during times of Indian aggression, and thanked friendly countries for supporting Pakistan’s stance internationally.
“Pakistan also achieved diplomatic success in countering Indian hostilities,” he said, adding, “We are proud of the professionalism and capabilities of our armed forces.”
