LHC directs Lahore DC to decide on PTI’s plea for workers’ convention on Aug 14

LAHORE: Disposing of the petition filed by the PTI, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday directed the Lahore deputy commissioner (DC) to decide on the application filed by the party for holding a workers’ convention on Independence Day (August 14).

Justice Khalid Ishaq heard the petition filed by Akmal Khan, a PTI worker.
Assistant Advocate General Muhammad Farrukh Khal Lodhi represented the Punjab government, while Sardar Khurram Latif Khosa appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner. Justice Ishaq asked the PTI lawyer about the date of the public meeting.

Khosa, however, informed him that it was not a public meeting, but a workers’ convention, which the party planned to hold on August 14. “I refer the matter to the DC with directions to decide on your application by 11:00 AM tomorrow,” the judge remarked. Concurring with him, Khosa replied, “Ok sir.”
