LHC seeks Punjab govt’s response on PTI’s rally request by Aug 2

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday ordered the Punjab government to decide on the application submitted by the PTI for a rally at Greater Iqbal Park (Minar-e-Pakistan) on August 14 by the next hearing on August 2.

During the hearing of the petition filed by PTI Central Punjab Vice President Akmal Khan, in which he made the Punjab government, the chief secretary, Punjab IGP, and the DC Lahore respondents, Justice Muzammal Akhtar Shabbir also ordered the provincial government to submit its report at the next hearing.

Addressing the Punjab government’s lawyer, the judge asked why the government was not deciding on the application.
