UAE grants visa exemption to Pakistan officials

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted a visa exemption for Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders, allowing them to enter the UAE without the need for a visa. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced the development on Sunday, stating that the agreement was reached during his meeting with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on June 24 in Abu Dhabi.

Dar, who also serves as Pakistan’s foreign minister, confirmed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the meeting to implement the visa exemption. The agreement took effect 30 days after the signing of the MoU, and the exemption was activated on July 25, 2025, at all UAE airports.

In a reciprocal arrangement, UAE citizens are also granted visa exemption at all Pakistani airports. Dar expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries and added that UAE authorities have expressed full support in expediting visa processes for Pakistani citizens as well.

This move is expected to enhance bilateral ties between the two nations and further streamline diplomatic and official travel.
