KARACHI: A man was robbed of Rs3 million in broad daylight outside his home in the upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area on Tuesday. Police reported that four armed men on two motorcycles snatched the cash from Shahid Hussain near Rehman Mosque in DHA Phase IV, within the jurisdiction of Gizri Police Station.
The incident was captured on CCTV, showing the suspects committing the crime. Hussain had just returned from a bank in the Badr Commercial Area and was getting out of his car when the robbers struck. One of the suspects pulled out a weapon and forcibly took the cash-filled bag from Hussain’s vehicle. The robbers opened the bag on the spot to verify the amount before fleeing the scene.
The footage shows passers-by nearby, but the suspects managed to escape without resistance. While one suspect’s face is clearly visible, others were masked, wearing caps or helmets to conceal their identities. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the robbery.
