Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sees record tourist influx during Eidul Azha

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s scenic tourist spots experienced an overwhelming surge in visitors, with over 932,000 tourists flocking to the region during the three days of Eidul Azha.

Swat proved to be the most popular destination, attracting 288,424 domestic tourists and 63 foreign visitors. Other major spots, including Galiyat (177,000 tourists), Naran Kaghan (168,000), Malam Jabba (160,000), and Dir Upper (85,000), also saw significant footfall.

Efficient arrangements for parking, security, and medical assistance were lauded by visitors, thanks to the efforts of the Tourism Police and relevant authorities. The newly developed tourism infrastructure in merged districts like Khyber and Bajaur also drew significant attention, indicating the growing potential of these areas as tourist hubs.

Zahid Chanzeb, Advisor for Tourism, expressed pride in the trust placed by tourists and affirmed that the government was committed to making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a modern and safe world-class tourist destination.
