George Clooney opened up about his twins, Ella and Alexander, during an interview at the 2025 Tony Awards on Sunday, June 8. The actor, 64, shared a candid update on his and wife Amal’s 8-year-old children, revealing that they’re eager to see Taylor Swift in concert, though they’re not familiar with film legends like Robert DeNiro. “They don’t care,” he joked.
Despite not knowing much about iconic actors, both Ella and Alexander are big fans of Wicked, eagerly anticipating its second part. Clooney, who was nominated for Best Actor for his role as Edward R. Murrow in Good Night, and Good Luck, credited Amal for being a strong support during his Broadway debut.

In a heartfelt moment, George expressed his admiration for Amal, saying, “She’s the bravest human being I’ve ever met. I am deeply proud of her, and I’m incredibly lucky to have her as my partner.”
For the event, George wore a classic black tuxedo while Amal dazzled in a white corseted Tamara Ralph gown adorned with pearls.

Good Night, and Good Luck, which George helped adapt for the stage, tells the powerful story of CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow’s confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy’s corruption. Clooney’s inspiration for the role came from his father, Nick Clooney, whose work as a journalist shaped his view on the importance of a free press.
