Meghan Markle has marked her daughter Lilibet’s fourth birthday with a touching Instagram tribute, sharing a sweet black-and-white photo of herself embracing her little girl on a boat ride. The photo shows Lilibet, affectionately known as “Lili,” looking just like her father, Prince Harry. Along with the recent image, Meghan also posted a throwback photo of her cradling newborn Lilibet shortly after her birth in 2021.
“Four years ago today she came into our lives – and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!” Meghan wrote in the caption.
However, a royal insider familiar with the family said, “Harry is extremely focused on protecting his kids, so I doubt he’s happy about these images being public.”
Prince Harry Security Concerns:
Prince Harry, 40, has consistently emphasized security as his top priority. After losing an appeal over the security details for his family in the UK, he told the BBC earlier this month, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.” The removal of their automatic security entitlement has forced Harry to say he can only safely return if personally invited by the royal family and granted tight protection.
Previously, Meghan has kept her children’s faces mostly private, apart from a few official birthday photos. The insider noted, “Harry and Meghan have gone to great lengths to keep the children out of the public eye. It’s unusual to see so many photos emerging now when they are more recognizable.”

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, following Prince Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from their royal duties and relocate to the U.S. with their son, Prince Archie, in 2020.
Her name was a tribute to both her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, whose family nickname is Lilibet, and her late grandmother, Princess Diana. A spokesperson for the couple shared the news of her birth, confirming that Lili was born healthy and well, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz.

“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales,” the statement read.
Lilibet’s arrival marked the second child for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who also have a son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, now six. The family has continued to enjoy their time together away from the spotlight, with Meghan expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and well-wishes on this special occasion.
