LAHORE: Despite the reopening of Pakistan’s airspace following a ceasefire agreement with India, both domestic and international flight operations remained disrupted at Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA) on Monday.
Several airlines continued to cancel flights to and from Lahore, citing operational constraints. Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) cancelled multiple services on the Lahore–Jeddah route, including SV733, SV737, SV739, and SV3735. Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways also suspended its flights J9 501 and J9 502, while SriLankan Airlines halted its Colombo–Lahore operations, cancelling flights UL153 and UL154, according to reports by Express News.
Airport officials advised passengers to check directly with their airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules and rebookings.
In contrast, operations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport have reportedly returned to normal.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) had announced on Saturday that the country’s airspace was fully reopened for all categories of aircraft. The decision came after a four-day period of cross-border hostilities between India and Pakistan that concluded with a ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire, brokered with international diplomatic engagement, was confirmed by both Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and India’s Ministry of External Affairs. U.S. President Donald Trump earlier stated that both countries had agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire,” easing fears of further escalation.
