Rising UV index

Skin diseases are rapidly increasing in Karachi due to extreme heat, particularly the ongoing heatwave. There has been a surge in daily hospital visits regarding heat rashes, allergies, fungal infections, and other skin issues. The UV index in Karachi is currently falling between 8 and 10 during afternoons, indicating that special protection is necessary when spending time outdoors. This current situation is alarming and needs immediate attention.

The government should release advisories to warn the people about the gravity of this heatwave, educate them on how to stay safe, and provide essential resources to hospitals so that they can provide quality treatment to infected patients.
