Drug trafficking hit hard by ANF city raids, ASF airport catch

LAHORE, ISLAMABAD: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and the Airport Security Force (ASF) have recently achieved significant breakthroughs in their ongoing battle against drug trafficking, it was revealed on Monday.

In a series of coordinated operations across Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Sheikhupura, the ANF arrested six individuals and seized a hefty 262 kilograms of various drugs.

During these targeted operations, a variety of drugs were confiscated: 150 kg of hashish, 110.4 kg of opium, and 2.2 kg of heroin.

The arrested individuals are currently facing charges under the Drug Act, with further investigations underway to dismantle the trafficking rings involved.

Meanwhile, at Lahore International Airport, ASF personnel foiled a smuggling attempt by a foreign passenger, Shin Shin Yang, bound for Colombo, recovering meth or ‘ice’ worth approximately six crore rupees cleverly concealed in milk packets.

The suspect was immediately detained and handed over to the ANF for further legal proceedings.

These concerted efforts by both the ANF and ASF underscore the ongoing commitment of Pakistani authorities to curb the menace of drug trafficking and its implications for national security and public health.
