Charity organizations

It is often said that we are living in a global village, but, unfortunately, people these days hardly know who live next door and what they happen to be going through and for how long. That leaves a lot of people dependent on various charity organisations to sustain themselves. I have no hard feeling against such organisations as they are feeding thousands of people in their soup kitchens without any discrimination, but what about those belonging to the middle class who shy away from standing in a queue for food to avoid hunger?
