Beggars in Quetta

The number of beggars in Quetta has increased significantly. They can be seen everywhere across the city; in markets and parks, outside restaurants and in the streets, occupying any place they find relevant. Most of them have made begging their profession despite being physically fit. Some beggars are involved in serious offences, while some suffer from highly infectious and contagious diseases, such as leprosy, tuberculosis, risking lives of others. It is necessary to ensure that such cases are taken care of, and treated in state-run hospitals, while other professional beggars should be taken to task.
