A level playing field

For holding free and fair elections, a level playing field is a prerequisite. It means that all individuals and political parties should be allowed to contest elections without any discrimination. The administration should provide equal facilities to them for holding political meetings and carrying out election campaigns. The establishment should not favour or oppose anyone, and stay away from the whole process. The interim government should issue clear-cut instructions to all government departments in this regard, and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should take notice of any violation.
