Medical crisis in Gaza
November 13, 2023
Haemodialysis is a life-saving process for patients of kidney failure as it purifies their blood by taking out waste products and toxins. This requires more than 80 litres of water per session, and a dialysis machine that runs on electricity in addition to single-use disposables. The Gaza Strip has approximately a thousand patients who require haemodialysis at least twice a week to remain alive. In the absence of electricity and clean water, dialysis is impossible. The self-proclaimed civilised nations are watching hospitals being bombed, leaving the patients die in misery.
