FIA recovers Rs25b worth ETPB lands from illegal occupants

PESHAWAR:  The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have recovered most valuable land worth Rs25 billion during the operation against encroachments and illegal occupants of the Evacuee Trust Property Board lands.

According to the FIA, an operation was conducted against illegal occupants and rent defaulters across the country, including Peshawar.

FIA Additional Director General, Anti-Corruption Wing, Basharat Mehmood Shehzad and Saqib Sultan, a Director Anti-Corruption Wing led the operation.

The anti-corruption wing conducted operation in the light of the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and recommendations of Dr Shoaib Suddle Commission.

During the campaign, FIA successfully recovered 3,574 acres of urban, agricultural property valued at Rs25 billion. Similarly, outstanding rent dues of Rs700.3 million were also recovered from the defaulters.
