Moving forward, energy will be increasingly used for maintaining global hegemony. The changing global world order brings both opportunities and challenges for Pakistan. The major challenge to our foreign policy is to maintain a balance in ties with the United States and China. Also, Pakistan has to interact with other countries while keeping in view its own core national interest. Pakistan is already shifting its policies from geostrategic to geo-economics, and we must move forward on that path. Pakistan needs to exploit resources in central Asian states and Afghanistan. For this, peace is imperative in the region. Pakistan must align its foreign policy according to the changing global world order.
