With street crimes going out of hand in Karachi, ‘street justice’ by enraged citizens against robbers when they get a hand on them is also on the rise. The reason behind such incidents, however, is not difficult to comprehend. Law-enforcement agencies have not only failed in maintaining the law and order situation in the city, but have also failed to ensure that culprits get the punishment they deserve when arrested. All concerned should pay heed to the matter going from bad to worse.
