USC staffer booked in Sukkur over aid fraud

KARACHI: The crime circle in Sukkur of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against the local Utility Stores Corporation (USC) staff and their suspected accomplices on charges of selling ration bags meant for the victims of flood in the open market.

According to an official of the agency, the first information report (FIR) No. 46/2022 was registered under sections 409 (criminal misappropriation) and 109 (punishment of abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against the accused who are now taking part in the investigation.

Earlier, Maqbool Ahmed Bhatti, an accused who’s an employee of the corporation, was caught red-handed by the Sukkur police selling assistance in the open market.

A separate case was also registered by Jhangro police station in Sukkur against Bhatti and his accomplices, including the USC staff and a group of private entities.
