Extraordinary growth in exports needed to meet growing challenges: minister

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan needs extraordinary growth in exports to meet economic challenges which have increased after recent floods, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said.

While addressing an expo organised by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iqbal underlined the need to adopt the export-led growth policy as the country is facing the worst crisis due to the floods.

The minister urged the business community to adopt a market-driven approach in order to get space in the global market, adding the private sector has the potential to increase growth and the government will finish all the red tape to support the private sector.

“There will be no growth if we fail to produce anything. Therefore, it is time to increase our growth,” he added.
