Federal minister fined for violating polls CoC

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday imposed Rs25,000 fine on Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain for violating election code of conduct.

Reportedly, the district monitoring officer of NA-118 Nankana Sahib issued a notice to the federal minister over violation of election code on Sept 5. According to the notice, Mr Hussain participated in an election campaign of a candidate in violation of the code of conduct devised for the by-election. In light of the district monitoring officer notice, the ECP imposed a fine amounting to Rs25,000 on the minister.
