Improving writing skills has been a great challenge for many students. People often ask how they can polish their English language skills. My strategy in this regard is quite simple and effective. Whenever someone comes to me with such a question, I advise them to read fiction.

There are several reasons behind this advice. Firstly, there is no shortcut to improving English or any language. However, fiction helps you subconsciously absorb and learn different writing styles, grammar rules and to infuse a smooth flow to your writing.

Also, reading fiction is the best way to improve linguistic capacity, develop a personalised writing style, and learn sentence structuring. It keeps the rules of grammar and usage refreshed in your mind while increasing your vocabulary at the same time.

Rules pertaining to grammar are amazingly and pertinently expounded in fiction books. Besides, fiction can render your expressions more powerful.
