Bad weather forces suspension of Amarnath Yatra in IIOJK

SRINAGAR: In Indian illegally occupied Kashmir (IIOJ&K), the authorities temporarily suspended Hindu pilgrimage Amarnath Yatra on Thursday due to inclement weather amid rains.

According to Kashmir Media Service, no Hindu pilgrim was allowed to move towards the Amarnath cave from both Pahalgam and Baltal camps in the occupied territory.

Earlier, the yatra was stopped for three days following a cloudburst on July 8 which left 16 people dead and over 30 missing. It had resumed via the Pahalgam route on Monday and through the Baltal route on Tuesday.

The annual 43-day Hindu pilgrimage commenced on 30 June and is scheduled to end on 11 August.
