No Name-Calling

I have huge respect for the COAS, who asked Prime Minister Imran Khan not to call Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman “diesel”. Prime Minister replied that people call Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman diesel, which is why he also called him diesel. It is not appropriate to call a cleric by such names as clerics have sufficient knowledge of the Quran and Hadith owing to which clerics should be respected. People always comment that what is the role of a cleric in politics and why Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has come into politics. He might be criticized for having a difference of opinions or having dissent over opinion but he should and must not be treated badly come what may because he is a cleric or at least should not be pronounced with such bad names.

The role of clerics is not just to lead the obligatory prayers in Masjids and to teach The Holy Quran; instead, clerics should serve in all walks of life and perform their duties. Islam is not just the name of offering salah, instead, it teaches us a complete way of life. which includes dealing with societal issues, morality, politics etc and Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman is discharging his services in politics.
