Chinese envoy lauds Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process

Chinese envoy for Afghanistan Yue Xiaoyong called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest, regional security, including Afghanistan situation, and measures to further enhance bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

The COAS reiterated the need for convergence of efforts towards a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan in pursuit of regional stability.

The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process, special efforts for border management and role in regional stability, and pledged to play his part for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
