Navy promotes three to vice admiral rank

KARACHI: Three rear commodores of the Pakistan Navy were promoted to the rank of vice admiral, a spokesperson said on Thursday.

According to the statement, the officers included Imran Ahmad, Naveed Ashraf and Awais Ahmad Bilgrami.

"All three officers have extensive experience of performing at various command and staff positions in the Pakistan Navy," it added.

Ahmed has previously served as deputy chief of naval staff (material), Pakistan Navy Engineering College commandant and Maritime Technology Complex director general.

Whereas Ashraf's previously responsibilities include Pakistan Naval Academy commandant, National Defence University deputy president and deputy chief of naval staff (administration).

Bilgrami last served as Navy Karachi commandant.
