Sanjrani to approach all political parties as part of his re-election campaign

Faraz hopes Sanjrani will win the top Senate slot again

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Tuesday said that he would approach every political party as part of his re-election campaign.
Speaking at a press conference, the Senate chairman said that regardless of whoever wins the elections the primary focus should remain on strengthening the parliament and democracy.
The Senate chairman was flanked by National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser who strongly rejected the opposition’s allegations towards the number of votes secured by Prime Minister Imran Khan during the vote of confidence last week.
Qaiser pressed that the promotion of democratic norms should not lose moral ground.
The speaker further stated that he had constituted a committee comprising members from both the treasury and opposition benches to probe into the unpleasant incidents that took place both inside and outside parliament house during the day of the vote.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz expressed hope that Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, being a visionary and dynamic politician, would win the slot again with clear majority.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Sanjrani for the top Senate slot as he is a man of credibility has run the Senate smoothly and effectively during the last three years.
Faraz said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is divided on the nomination of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani as its candidate, who had won his Senate seat through horse-trading and use of money.
