Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak has that he has been approached by 15 MNAs who wish to “join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf [PTI] in near future.”
Khattak on Wednesday said that he was told by Prime Minister Imran Khan to contact those members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) who are tired of the party’s negative narrative.
The above was said at a at a party joining gathering, which was attended by MNA Imran Khattak, Candidate for PK-63 by-election Mian Umar Kakakhel and a large number of PTI workers and supporters.
If the minister’s claims are to be believed, then the impending implosion of the PML-N would split the party into three and subsequently affect their political agendas.
On the occasion, he also remarked that the country had been plundered by former president Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.
“They are now making a hue and cry when being held accountable for their plunder and misdeeds,” he added.
Khattak had previously said that the protest movement, headed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman was to cover up the corruption of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari and to obtain an NRO-like deal.
The defence minister said that PM Imran would not spare even his close aides and friends if found involved in corruption and malpractices while holding public offices.
He also said that the PTI would win the upcoming by-election on PK-63 with a large margin and opposition parties would face a devastating defeat in the following electoral contest.
