–3,249 children under the age of 10 infected with coronavirus in Sindh
–Punjab reports 328 new cases during last 24 hours, provincial tally at 89,793
ISLAMABAD: The number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country has reached 204,276 so far, while the number of active Covid-19 cases dropped to 53,652 from 57,886 in the past 24 hours.
According to the latest statistics issued by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Sunday, 1,579 new coronavirus cases were reported in the country during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 263,496. Meanwhile, 46 patients died of the virus during the same period taking the death toll to 5,568.
A total of 22,559 coronavirus tests were carried out during the aforementioned period. The total reported cases include 112,118 in Sindh, 89,793 in Punjab, 31,890 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 11,424 in Balochistan, 14,576 in Islamabad, 1,807 Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 1,888 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
A total of 298 patients across the country are on ventilators. A total of 1,823 ventilators are allocated for Covid-19 patients.
3,249 CHILDREN INFECTED IN SINDH:
Meanwhile, Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab said that as many as 3,249 children under the age of 10 have so far been infected with coronavirus in the province.
In a Twitter post, he said 22,554 people above the age of 50 were affected by Covid-19 in the province.
He urged people to exercise all precautions, wear masks and not go out unnecessarily.
“Infection rate has come down but we have to ensure there is no spike during Eid,” Murtaza Wahab stressed.
PUNJAB REPORTS 328 FRESH CASES:
The government of Punjab reported 328 new cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the province’s total number of confirmed infections to 89,793.
According to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, 12 more people died of the virus during the period, due to which the death toll in the province rose to 2,079.
As many as 65,436 patients have recovered while overall 644,077 tests have been conducted so far.
According to district-wise breakdown of fresh coronavirus cases, Lahore reported 133 cases, Nankana Sahib and Kasur, three each, Shiekhupura, one, Rawalpindi, twelve, Jhelum, three, Chakwal, one, Gujranwala, 19, Sialkot, eight, Gujrat, 13, Multan, 18, Faisalabad, 26, Jhang, five, Rahim Yar Khan, four, Bahawalpur, eleven, Sahiwal, five, Okara, nine, and Pakpattan, four.
