LAHORE: At least three positive cases of COVID-19 have emerged at Digital Globe Services’ (DGS) Lahore office.
According to details, on April 21, an employee of the company, who had been a regular to the office, tested positive for COVID-19 after she developed fever and went into isolation. After the report that one of the employees had tested positive, the company carried out tests of the entire team of around 15-20 people that the employee was associated with and following the tests, two more employees came out positive.
DGS, a call center business of The Resource Group (TRG) that deals with clients in the United States (US), remained open during the lockdown as the government allowed ‘call center businesses with limited public dealings’ to remain operational.
Despite the positive cases, DGS management has opted not to shut the office and that too without thorough testing of the workforce that runs in hundreds of employees. Only the team that was exposed to the employee that tested positive and a handful of people suspected to have come in contact with positive patients have been asked to observe quarantine at home, while the positive patients remain in isolation.
The company denied any knowledge of the positive cases, even though one of the employees who had tested positive for COVID-19 confirmed to Pakistan Today about the authenticity of the case.
