A woman who had been ‘resurrected’ after being declared dead by doctors on Wednesday passed away on Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, 50-year-old Rasheeda Bibi had woken up when her body was being bathed for burial rites at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). She had been brought to the hospital for treatment where doctors declared her dead and even issued her death certificate.
The hospital administration said Rasheeda had been kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as she was suffering from paralysis.
Assuming her to be dead, the hospital administration had placed her in the morgue for 45 minutes for the final bath where she suddenly woke up. The mortuary attendants and some female relatives of the women panicked and fled from the room.
