- Pakistan must make the world aware that it must stop Indian excesses
Plato once said, “Your Silence Gives Consent.” An intellectual 2400 years ago knew this but today the poor Indians have realized it. Protests against the Narendra Modi government’s Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) have engulfed India. It started in and around Delhi in some academic campuses on 12 December 2019 and since then it has been fast spreading. It has now spread to small towns and villages in India and all over world from London to California. Primarily Muslim students started the protest and others joined in and it has taken the shape of a mass movement with the support from major opposition parties, Bollywood actors, civil society organizations, activists, and other intellectuals. Surprisingly a large number of female students are at the forefront of this rapidly unfolding protests against Modi’s authoritarian regime. Organizations representing Dalits and Christians have been taking part in the protests. Thirteen Indian states are suffering from the fire of the CAA. The USA and the Gulf Countries have issued warnings to their citizens to not go to the specific states of India to avoid any danger. Violence is a high-risk option as it often brings backlash from the regime.
There was one Hindu state, Nepal. Even bit ecame secular. In 1951, 303 million Hindus were in India, in 2011, 966 million. Today common citizen (Hindu) Of India would think vehemently that he is not against any other Hindu. He is as good Hindu as anyone can be. He is against Hindutva, which is a criminal gang.
It’s India’s internal upset which has resulted owing to the BJP’s miscalculations due to biased policies. Liberal and enlightened Indians, and specifically Hindus, have more high voices than Indian Muslims against CAA. Modi has destroyed Indian secularism and tried to implement extremism. From the beginning, it was clear that the Indian constitution was secular, but not the Indian society. With the advent of Modi, the Indian government is being recognized as the face of Hindu Orthodoxy or religious fanaticism. Such emotions were present in general from the beginning, but the state had distanced itself from such emotions and now there is no distance left.
Pakistan is not a defenseless force. Its armed forces are not ordinary forces but they include a battled-hardened army. The Pakistan Army has defeated organized terrorism and it is the only Army which has done, which denotes its capability, but spreading awareness in the world about chances of a false-flag operation from the Indian side against Pakistan is crucial and India’s intentions are an open secret for world but the economic interests of other countries inhibit them from adopting or supporting the truth. Indeed, it is obvious that Indian democracy has died and Shining India has lost its shine
There are 250 million Muslims in India. Pakistan tried to advance the hand of friendship to India to improve the miserable conditions of Indian Muslims, and especially for the people of Kashmir, but India did not reply positively, unfortunately. Both countries have achieved nothing from enmity. Wars are initiated by governments. Hitler and Mussolini are the stark examples. The Indian Parliament has passed the CAA but seven chief ministers have rejected adopting it in their states.
India’s minorities, particularly Muslims, not only have been subjected to blatant discrimination but also to various forms of mob violence. The lynching of Muslims on suspicion of eating beef or smuggling cows has become quite regular. Muslim youths have been harassed by the police and ruling party cadres.
Fortunately, unlike on other issues like triple talaq, or Kashmir or Ayodhya verdict, opposition parties criticized the CAA. Modi is visibly flustered– he doesn’t know what he is blabbering! The same Modi had killed 2000 Muslims in 2002 in Gujarat.
A few days back, about 500 lawyers have offered help across India. In past few days, 22 people, including an eight-year-old child, have been killed by Police in CAA protests, all in BJP-ruled states. 1500 have been arrested, and 4000 plus detained including more than 200 intellectuals. This is worse than the Nazis.
After what India has been doing in Kashmir, it can no more be called as a democracy, according to The Washington Post’s scathing editorial.
In India, The right wing is bound by hatred for Gandhi, Nehru and his family, but plays the victim in claiming that the liberal or secular are bound by their hate for Modi. They abuse women and issue rape threats but they play victims that the liberal secular discourse is bad. The right wing spreads hate, targets minorities, and its members act as cheerleaders of violent ideology, but they play the victim and falsely accuse the liberal or secular, or anyone who doesn’t agree with them, of being Urban Naxalites. They defend even their convicted criminals and seek swift punishment for others on mere suspicion.
They spread fear, victimize anyone who disagrees with them, clamp down on media, freedoms of common citizens, create policies that destroy economy badly but their slogan says ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”. Yet, they play the victim and claim “Hindu khatre main hain” (Hinus are in danger).
Modi’s Government is blamed in engaging in land grabbing in the Kashmir Valley. India today is a glimpse of what Indian-Held Kashmir (IHK) has been for the last four months and it is bad luck imposed on Indians due to the sufferings of Kashmiris under severe curfew.
In the end, Pakistan is right now needed to carry out diplomatic steps to improve its reputation and must assure the world that until and unless the Western countries cross the line to put pressure on India, things will only deteriorate. The Indian Government will never stop the human rights violations in IHK and other conflicted areas in India. Pakistan must end the sustained propaganda of terrorism in Western countries against itself. It is needed to address the concerns which are expressed on international level against Pakistan or must address the negative propaganda which India makes against Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan should need to take steps to portray a positive image of Pakistan for Western World. But the violations of human rights in India and especially IHK must be highlight on the International front.
