Punjab bans ‘request based’ transfers of lecturers

LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Department on Thursday imposed a ban on request based transfers and postings of the teaching staff of all public sector colleges till March 31, 2020, “owing to the (ongoing) academic session 2019-2020.”

The notification further states that the higher education department will accept transfer requests through its online URL from April 1, 2020, onwards.

“The Higher Education Department has evolved an online system URL http://transfer.hed.punjab.gov.pk/ for submission of transfer requests which may be accessed from 1st April 2020 for submission of transfer/postings requests,” the notification said.

The notification, while encouraging the use of its online URL for transfer/posting requests also clearly specified that “no manual or handwritten transfer/posting request will be entertained by the department”.

“Therefore, you are requested to pass on necessary directions to all the field formations and the teaching staff to adopt the web-based system,” the notification said, adding, “Any further instructions regarding transfer/posting process may be issued from time to time and shall be made available on the department’s website.”
