LODHRAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Friday said that his party will fulfill the electoral promise of creating the South Punjab province.
In a media talk following the inauguration of a land record centre in Rajapur town of Lodhran district, Tareen said that efforts are underway for the creation of a south Punjab province for better administration of deprived areas.
The former PTI secretary general said enormous loans were taken in the past tenures, which now the incumbent government has to pay. “Those who looted taxpayers money will not be spared.”, he said.
In response to a question, Tareen said the verdict of the special court in the high treason case against former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has created a sense of disappointment amongst the public.
“The judge [Justice Waqar Seth] should have refrained from using strong words in the [paragraph 66] of the verdict,” he said, adding: “This is a court verdict, I won’t comment on it any further.”
