RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former prime minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gillani on Monday in a probe related to the appointment of Yousuf Baig Mirza as managing director of state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) during his tenure.
As per the details, the accountability watchdog asked Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Yousaf Raza Gillani to appear before Rawalpindi NAB on Monday at 11:00 am for interrogation in the illegal appointment case.
“Gillani misused his powers and appointed the former managing director (MD) of Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) illegally,” said NAB.
Gillani was also on NAB’s radar in September 2018, when the accountability watchdog established his involvement in a case of alleged misuse of authority in a publicity campaign of Universal Service Fund (USF), which caused heavy losses to the national exchequer.
