KARACHI: While cases of dengue-related illnesses have reportedly dropped by a margin of 93 percent across the country, the situation in Sindh remains dismal as two more patients lost their lives to dengue virus in Karachi on Saturday,
According to reports, a woman from North Nazimabad and a three-month-old infant from Gulshan-e-Malir died due to dengue fever in Karachi hospitals.
This year a total of 15,963 dengue cases were reported from Sindh out of which at least 14,837 were reported from Karachi alone.
According to the Ministry of National Health, this month no cases of dengue fever reported in Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Islamabad while the number of cases in Punjab went down by 97 percent.
As many as 94 cases were reported across the country including 84 in Sindh and eight in Punjab.
Moreover, a total of 92 people were reported to have died due to dengue across Pakistan – 47 of whom were from Sindh.
